"Georgian unique mobile building. A movable drop-off point for resources that can be repositioned as needed."
Strategic Analysis
Strategic Role
The Mule Cart is a mobile drop-off point unique to Georgians. It can move between resources, reducing walking time for villagers and adapting to changing needs.
Key Tactics
Mobile Economy
Position Mule Carts directly at resources. When a resource is depleted, move the cart to the next one.
Raid Resistance
If raiders attack, move your Mule Cart to safety. Unlike stationary buildings, you can relocate it.
Forward Resources
Use Mule Carts to quickly gather from distant resources without building permanent structures.
Warning
Mule Carts have very low HP and no armor. They are vulnerable to any attack and should be protected.

Mobility
Mobile
Can move between resource sites. Unique among drop-off buildings.
HP
300 HP
Very low HP. Vulnerable to any attack.

Context & meta
Mule Cart is the mobile economic building available to the Armenians and Georgians. It costs 80 wood, takes 25 seconds to build, has only 300 HP, 1 melee armor, 2 pierce armor and 4 line of sight, with no garrison. The official help says it is a mobile dropsite for wood, stone, gold and hunted food, and that it can be tasked to a resource so it remains close as that resource depletes. It is an economy tool with legs: its flexibility is valuable precisely because its shell is too fragile to defend itself.
History & balance
The Mule Cart translates a moving resource camp into a playable building. A fixed drop-off point assumes that the resource stays where the economy began; a cart assumes that workers, herds and frontiers move. That image fits communities that had to carry tools and stores with a mobile household or follow resources across uneven ground. AoE2 makes the trade-off clear: mobility saves walking time and wood spent on several permanent sites, but a cart has almost no staying power. Its history is therefore expressed through a decision every minute: keep the economy close to the resource, or move the whole drop-off before the danger arrives.
In pro play
Task the Mule Cart to the resource cluster that saves the most walking, then move it before a raid reaches the villagers it serves. The 80 wood price is attractive for a flexible opening, but the 25-second build time means that losing one is not a small interruption. Use it to follow stone, gold or hunted food as the safe side of the map changes, and place it where several villagers can drop off without crowding. Its 300 HP and zero armor demand vision, a retreat path and a military screen; never treat it like a Town Center or even a normal camp. Move first, fight later, and rebuild only when the saved walking time repays the wood.
How to counter it
The classic mistake is diving into the whole enemy economy while ignoring the Mule Cart that keeps a forward resource alive. The official help gives its economic function: a mobile dropsite for four resources that can follow a depleting resource; there is no combat Weak vs list. Use vision and a short raid on the cart or nearby villagers, then force the opponent to walk or spend another 80 wood and 25 seconds. Do not chase it through your own army; make its destination unsafe and punish the next move. If you keep losing to Mule Carts without knowing what to produce or when, AoE Coach reads your match-up and gives you the counter composition and timing.
