Elephant Archer

Massive ranged cavalry unit available to Indian subcontinent civilizations. Combines elephant tankiness with archer range. Extremely durable but slow and vulnerable to anti-elephant counters.

Tactical Briefing

The Elephant Archer is a walking fortress. With 280 HP, you tank damage that would kill any other archer unit. Your 3 pierce armor means you shrug off arrow fire while dealing consistent damage at range 4. Use them to push into enemy archer masses - they simply can't kill you fast enough. However, Monks convert you easily, Halberdiers deal massive bonus damage, and Scorpions shred you. Never fight alone. Classes: Archer, Cavalry, Elephant, War Elephant.

Strategic Analysis

The Elephant Archer is a **tanky ranged damage dealer**. Unlike fragile Cavalry Archers, they can absorb punishment while steadily whittling down enemy forces from range.

  • Archer Counter Push: Walk into enemy Arbalester balls. Your 280 HP and 3 pierce armor means their shots barely tickle. Meanwhile you're killing 1-2 archers per volley.
  • Building Pressure: Your +3 vs Buildings bonus lets you chip down structures while tanking TC fire. Support with Rams for faster pushes.
  • Late Game Tank: In post-Imperial, Elephant Archers become nightmares to deal with. Fully upgraded with Parthian Tactics, they have obscene staying power.

Warning: **Monks** are your nightmare - 280 HP becomes 280 HP for the enemy. **Halberdiers** deal massive bonus damage (+28 from War Elephant class). **Heavy Scorpions** pierce through your mass. Always bring counter units.
