Heavy Cavalry Archer
Imperial Age upgrade with improved durability and damage. The premier mobile ranged unit for civilizations specializing in cavalry archery.
Tactical Briefing
The Heavy Cavalry Archer is the fully realized mounted archer. With 60 HP, 7 attack, and 1 melee armor, you're finally durable enough to take some hits. Your +4 vs Spearman bonus means Halberdiers die fast even though they counter cavalry. Combined with Parthian Tactics, you become a self-sufficient raiding force. Keep kiting, keep shooting, and remember - you're still countered by Elite Skirmishers. In melee, Hussars and Paladins will crush you. Use your speed to avoid bad fights and pick off siege and monks.

Strategic Analysis
The Heavy Cavalry Archer is the **Imperial Age mobile power spike**. With full upgrades, HCA become one of the strongest compositions in the game, dominating open maps through superior mobility and firepower.
- Halberdier Counter: Your +4 vs Spearman makes you the answer to Halbs. While they counter other cavalry, you shoot them down before they can engage. Protect your Paladins or Hussars.
- Siege Deletion: Trebuchets, Bombard Cannons, and Siege Onagers can't escape you. Rush their siege line, kill it, retreat. Repeat until they have no siege left.
- Map Control: HCA speed lets you be everywhere. Contest relics, raid eco, support flanks. One army, multiple threats. Force opponent to react to you.
Warning: **Elite Skirmishers** still hard counter you. In melee, **Hussars** and **Paladins** with their high attack and speed can catch and kill you. Don't let fights become melee brawls.
