Strategic Analysis
Tactical Identity
The Xolotl Warrior is a **situational game-changer** for Meso civs. Normally lacking any cavalry, getting access to Xolotl Warriors completely changes your tactical options.
Tactical Playbook
Convert That Stable
Use Monks aggressively to convert an enemy Stable. Once you have it, you unlock Xolotl Warriors - something your opponent never expects from a Meso civ.
Raiding Potential
Meso civs lack raiding units besides Eagle Warriors. Xolotl Warriors at 1.35 speed can raid villagers and escape before infantry arrives.
Surprise Factor
Your opponent won't expect cavalry from Aztecs or Mayans. Xolotl Warriors catching Arbalesters off-guard can swing a game.
Critical Point
Getting a converted Stable is difficult and situational. Don't rely on this as a core strategy - it's an opportunistic bonus.
Understanding The Stats
The Xolotl Warrior has Knight-like stats but cannot be upgraded. It's a solid unit that fills a critical gap in Meso civ compositions.
Knight-Level HP
Same HP as a Knight. This makes them durable raiders and front-line fighters for civs that normally lack such options.
Balanced Armor
Good melee and pierce armor. They tank archer fire reasonably well and trade decently with infantry.
No Upgrades
Unlike Knights, Xolotl Warriors have no elite upgrade. They stay at this power level throughout the game.
Moderate Speed
Slower than Light Cavalry (1.5) but faster than Knights (1.35). Good for raiding, not for chasing.
Coach's Tip
Your 100 HP and 2/2 armor make you a solid all-rounder. You're not as strong as a Cavalier but you're the only cavalry Meso civs can get. Use them to plug the gap in your army composition.
