Context & meta
Elite Camel Archer is the Berber mounted ranged unit designed to dominate other mounted archers. It costs 50 wood and 60 gold, trains in 25 seconds, and has 60 HP, 8 attack, 1 melee armor and 1 pierce armor. Its range is 4, speed 1.4, and line of sight 5. The official help gives the categories: exceptionally strong against Mounted Archers, and weak against the Spearman-line, Skirmishers and Camel Riders. The unit is mobile but not heavily protected. Its value comes from choosing the fight, preserving distance, and using the camel class to punish the right target rather than every target.
History & balance
The Elite Camel Archer turns the Berber camel into a specialized answer to the mounted ranged battlefield. It is not simply a faster archer with a different model. The unit asks the player to read the opponent's stable and archery range, then invest in a counter that is excellent in that lane but exposed to cheap anti-cavalry and anti-ranged tools. Its 4 range and 60 HP keep the tension visible. The camel archer is strongest when the enemy has committed to mobility, and weakest when that commitment is met by a prepared screen.
In pro play
Use Elite Camel Archers to take the first exchange against mounted archers, then keep the fight moving. Speed 1.4 and line of sight 5 help the group find an angle, while range 4 is enough to punish a target that cannot turn cleanly. Do not let the 25-second train time hide the economy: every unit costs 50 wood and 60 gold, and 60 HP disappears quickly under a bad focus. Berber stable discounts do not apply to this Archery Range unit, so plan the wood and gold honestly. Add a front line when Spearmen or Skirmishers appear, and retreat before Camel Riders connect.
How to counter it
The classic mistake is answering Elite Camel Archers with another mounted archer and accepting the matchup they were built to win. The official help gives the categories: Mounted Archers as an exceptional strength, and the Spearman-line, Skirmishers and Camel Riders as weaknesses. In practice, Elite Skirmishers have a real bonus against Cavalry Archers, while Heavy Camel Riders have real bonuses against Cavalry and Camel; use a protected mass and close from more than one angle. Do not chase with one slow unit. Facing Elite Camel Archers without knowing what to produce or when? AoE Coach reads your matchup and gives you the composition + timing.
