Elite Skirmisher
Castle Age upgrade of the Skirmisher. Improved stats and stronger anti-archer capabilities make it the go-to trash unit for shutting down ranged compositions.
Tactical Briefing
The Elite Skirmisher is your upgraded archer-killer. With 4 pierce armor and +4 bonus against archers, you dominate any ranged fight. Your 5 range lets you outrange basic archers and trade efficiently. You're still a trash unit - no gold cost means infinite production. Use this to shut down crossbow aggression in Castle Age while saving gold for Knights or siege. Remember, any melee unit destroys you. Keep your distance, stay behind your front line, and let archers come to you.

Strategic Analysis
The Elite Skirmisher is the **hard counter** to any archer-based strategy. At Castle Age, when Crossbows become dominant, Elite Skirms are your gold-free answer to maintain army parity.
- Crossbow Counter: When enemy masses Crossbows, match their production with Elite Skirms. You trade 0 gold vs their 45 gold per unit. Over time, you win the resource war.
- Defensive Screen: Position Elite Skirms in front of your siege or behind your Knights. They absorb arrow fire and punish any archer that tries to kite your melee units.
- Trash Wars Support: In late game, Elite Skirms counter Halberdiers that counter your Hussars. The trash triangle: Skirms beat Halbs beat Hussars beat Skirms.
Warning: Cavalry and infantry will shred you. Your 0 melee armor and low HP means even Light Cavalry 3-shot you. Never let enemies close the distance.
