With 160 HP, 11 attack, 8 melee armor, and devastating +8 vs Fire Ships, the War Hulk is an absolute wall on the water. It deals +6 bonus damage to all ships, making it dangerous to every naval vessel in a close fight. Its 1.25 speed allows it to close distance on slower ships. The War Hulk serves as the perfect screen for your Galleons, absorbing Fire Ship rushes and demolition attacks while your ranged ships deal damage from behind. Upgrade further to the Carrack for the ultimate naval melee platform.

Strategic Analysis

The War Hulk is the **Imperial Age naval tank** that controls close-range engagements and denies Fire Ship strategies entirely.

  • Fire Ship Deletion: +8 vs Fire Ships means 19 total damage per hit. Fast Fire Ships (130 HP) die in 7 hits. Your 8 MA means they barely damage you in return.
  • Fleet Vanguard: Lead your fleet with War Hulks. They absorb Demolition Ships, tank Fire Ships, and force enemies to engage your ranged ships at a disadvantage.
  • Closing Speed: 1.25 speed is faster than most warships. You can catch retreating Fire Ships and close on Galleons trying to kite.
  • General Naval Damage: +6 vs Ships makes War Hulks effective against all naval units, not just Fire Ships. They trade well against anything in melee range.
